Peer Retreats For Women Executives

It can get lonely at the top. While we're busy taking care of everyone and every issue around us, we sometimes forget to take care of ourselves.  And sometimes we just want to talk with someone else who's walking in our shoes.

Women in positions of influence, leadership and responsibility need a casual, comfortable and non-judgmental setting where they can build deep, trusting relationships with peers. You want to freely explore new ideas and opportunities, vent and seek advice, problem solve and share stories, best practices and concerns with those in a similar situation. Our peer group retreats offer such a place.

It's ironic that even though we have more ways than ever to communicate, we are craving personal connections. We bring peer groups together for genuine dialogue and exchange, frank discussion and lively, trustful conversation – all the more meaningful when there is face-to-face interaction. Our members become part of a network of women with similar status.

What happens here, stays here! Part of what makes people comfortable sharing intimate conversation is knowing that what they reveal remains between them and those they take into their confidence. Our gatherings expect and require the utmost discretion and confidentiality of attendees at all times. We operate under Chatham House rules, which means that “participants are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker(s), nor that of any other participant, may be revealed.”

Study after study has shown that to perform at the highest levels, we need to take a break from what we're doing from time to time and step back. Giving our brains, bodies and souls a chance to recharge - and giving ourselves permission to relax - isn't easy for most women.  So most of all, this is an opportunity for you to do something different, get out of your routine, and maybe even out of your comfort zone, to have some fun with a peer group of women.

When you arrive on Thursday, take a nice deep breath and savor the fresh, ocean-scented Maine air. There's something truly magical, even therapeutic, about the place - you'll immediately feel tension disappearing and your blood pressure dropping.

On Thursday evening over drinks and dinner you'll meet, mix and mingle with your fellow guests. Starting Friday, we'll have facilitated roundtables each morning, where we can explore and discuss how we've overcome challenges in our industries, companies, and in interpersonal interactions.

After lunch, you can be as active or as relaxed as you'd like to be. We'll have various activities available, but sometimes kicking back and digging into a long-awaited read while taking a well-deserved rest in a nice Adirondack chair overlooking the schooners sailing by is just the ticket. If you'd like to experience a bit more of Maine, you might enjoy exclusive, behind the scenes access to museums, cultural and other attractions; a cooking and wine-tasting class in one of our many incredible top restaurants; lessons in chocolate-making at one of our custom chocolatiers or learning how to steam lobsters over seaweed; trying an outdoor adventure class; exploring some of our hundreds of islands; or perhaps meeting with a surprise guest or two. Our activities vary. Something you've always wanted to do in Maine? Let us know and we'll see what we can do!

(The Peer Retreat is also held on the charming island of Bermuda - please contact us for more details.)

On Sunday afternoon, you'll leave refreshed, relaxed, recharged and re-energized, with new ideas and an expanded network of peers for friendship and support.

The cost includes all materials, activities, accommodations and meals.
